Yabusame and Kyudo A fabulous project by:

Emily Allan What is Yabusame? It means "mounted archery"
It is a ceremony where people shoot targets
They shoot these targets while on a horse
Until Middle ages it is an important skill for warriors. Kyudo It is Japanese archery
The bow and arrow was begining to be used over 10,000 years ago!
Kyudo means "the way of the bow"
The Japanese had contests to see who was better at archery There are two types of compotitions:
the close target (distance: 28 meters)
the far target (distance: 90 meters)
Both types of compotitions is allowed to be in a group or by yourself
The winner is usually determianed by the number of hits the target gets Rules Bow (wood and bamboo)
