Transcript of Tom Swifty

the name comes from the Tom Swift book series. The author, Victor Appleton, tried to avoid the repition of the word "said" in dialogue, so he modified adverbs.

A type of word play in which there is a punning relationship between an adverb (in the attribution of a quote) and the statement it refers to (the quote).
