Bartering ( trading)
1 Time

A. thousands of years ago people would use bartering as money.
2 Value

A. If something was important it would make it valuable and more people would like to trade things with you.
3 Problems

A. If things were not valuable they would not last long and that is way they would be rare.
B. Some thing were people had were not valuable
C. Some of the valuable things people had were really heavy.

Currency
1. Each culture had some type of currency
Coins
1. Precious metals

A. Some of the metals were rare to find.
B. These coins were easily shaped and wieghted.
2. Minted

A. 2,600 years ago
B. To make coins people used gold and silver.
C. Back then people didn't care about the size and shape they just made them how they wanted to.
D. People didn't care about the standered size and wight.
E. Later people stared pure gold and silver.

F. In the middle east people would put gods heads on there coins.
3. Symbols

A. In Europe they also put gods heads on there coins.
B. Later in the years they stated putting rulers on their coins.
C. They also put when they were made, where they were made and by whom they were made.
4. Chinese coins

A. While in Europe they did that in china they put holes in there coins to carry it easier.
B. The Chinese coins were made out of copper.
C. In Europe they showed who were and all that stuff, well in China they stamped there worth,
Paper Money
1. Chinese paper money

A.T,Sai Lun invented paper. He was the first person to invent paper!
B. He invented paper 1,900 years ago but it wasn't used for money until 700 years later.
C. One day the government ran out of copper and had to stop making coins and use the paper to make paper money!
D. The earliest paper money was made by hand.
E. Coins were still available but very few.
F. The hand made paper money, that was made by hand, was made by wooden blocks.
2. Machine

A. In Europe another invention was made. This invention was a machine.
B. The money machine was made by Johannes Gutenberg.

Invisible Money
1. Checks

A. Banks keep track of your money that you have saved in your bank account.
2. Debit cards

A. Debit cads are just like money but instead it takes money from your bank account when a cashier uses it.
3. Credit Card

A. Banks borrow money from you

B. Banks pay interest
1.If the Internet gets bigger the longer takes to pay back
2. Characteristics

A. Unlike other types of currency some of them were light.
B. Allot of the currency people had was really valuable.
C. The currency back then were sometimes just objects so sometimes it was rare to find something.
D. To find rare things of course it would be hard to find thoose things.
