Transcript of Cambodian Weddings
Traditionally lasts 3 days and 3 nights.
First is the presentation of dowry
Following that is Pak Paeuk Pisa Sla which is inviting the Elders to Chew Betel Nut
The next ceremony is the Tea Ceremony.
After that ceremony we have the Hair Cutting Ceremony which is now still done but doesn't actually mean they cut their hair.
Finally we have the pairing ceremony were they pair red strings on the bride and grooms hands.
During every ceremony we have accompanied songs that give meaning to each ceremony.
The grooms side will present fruits and food on golden plates used to present on the wedding day. Although, the brides side of the people may also go and present.
After the reach the house they can enter and gain gifts from the brides side.
The Tea ceremony
They first present the tea to the parents of the groom and bride and then it's onto elders of the family or friends.
The night of the wedding there would be a wedding celebration where they cut the cake. Have their first dance and give toasts to the bride and groom.
Before the wedding
Before the wedding they would first eat inside the area the wedding will be held. Like the reception before the wedding.
Hair cutting and pairing ceremony
This ceremony starts off with the parents and
then parents of friends or family members may then participate and it's the same with pairing
red string ribbons.
The after PARTY
Clothing and food
Morning wear is usually traditional dresses,While night wear would be dresses or can also be traditional wear
The food is provided the whole day of the wedding.
It all depends on the groom and bride usually what you eat.
