Transcript of Cell Analogy

Contains DNA which provides the cell with information to regulate all activities
Nucleus
Cell Analogy
Provides area for leadership decisions to be made for function of village
Town Hall
Both the nucleus and the Town Hall house the key decision making tools. DNA in the Cell and the Mayor in the village
Similarity
In the Cell, if the nucleus is damaged the cell will not be able to function or regulate itself

In a village injury or death to the leader would not result in destruction of entire village as individual village members are able to think for them selves
Differences
Involved in protein synthesis and transport of material
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Connects all parts of the town and provides method of transporting materials within the village
Messenger Using Paths and Roadways
Both the ER and the roadways facilitate movement within the cell
Similarity
The ER transports proteins in one direction

The messenger is able to deliver information of supplies in both directions and encompasses a greater percentage of the village then the ER does in the cell.
Difference
Ribosomes
Ribosomes are the protein builders or the protein synthesizers of the cell
Construction Worker
Builds and repairs structures in village
Similarity
The ribosomes create proteins which are used as building blocks for the cell and construction workers build/repair structures in the village
Difference
Ribosomes build proteins for parts of the cell they are in

Construction workers build or repair structures everywhere
