Industrialization of The Automobile
By: Carlos Muñoz Automobile: Energy used for creation Automobile: Effects Quality of Life automobile: Evolution over Time The automobile transportation began as soon as 1769 but the idea of the car came soon as the 1400s and is still going on as to this day. 1769- Creation of the steam engined automobiles capable of human transportation. Timeline: 1806- Cars powered by internal combustion engine running on fossil fuel. 1885- Cars powered by modern gasoline. 20Th Century- Cars briefly powered on electric power. 21St Century- Electric powered cars more modern. Modern Electric car: 1769 Steam trolley: 1885 Combustion engine car: Why? The steam engine does not have the same power the modern engine with gasoline has. Modern Gasoline Car: Automobile: Resources Resources Needed to Produce: Environment Negative Impact : The automobile has not actually it self impacted the environment but the actual fuel to make the power. Fossil Fuels is very great power but not the safes. It's apart of the carbon cycle and it supports the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse gases have comfortably kept the Earth warm since the time life began but now extra carbon is left for the atmosphere and this is causing the rise of global temperature. Today: 19Th Century: 20Th Century: Environment Positive Impact : Automobile: Environment Impacted 19Th Century: 20Th Century: 19Th Century: 20Th Century: Today: Fossil Fuels Today: 19Th Century: 20Th Century: Today: 19Th Century: 20Th Century: Today: Automobile: Economic Cost/Benefit 19Th Century: 20Th Century: Today: Benefit- Benefit- Benefit- Cost- Cost- Cost- Do Benefits Outweigh Cost? Automobile: Course of Human History Did the Automobile Change the course of human History? Automobile: Change of Human History Was the Industrial Revolution of the 19Th and early 20Th century the biggest change in human history? Answer:

The Industrial revolution of the 19Th and early 20Th century was the biggest change in human history because it shaped in how not only America looks but the whole world looks today. We are really advanced in technology because of this. The industrial revolution was another reason why bad and good things have came up, even wars came to live with technology ;witch was the new war machines. The industrial revolution of the 19Th and 20Th century was very big because it shaped how we think/use to think, live/lived, and react/reacted. It shaped our world. after all i learned about the atomobile I think the aoutomobile made us... "CHAMPS." In the 19Th century most automobiles were powered by heat. The Heat was generated by the uses of coal. Coal was used to power the steam engine of most automobiles during the 19Th century. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&ved=0CDEQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pacificislandtravel.com%2Fnature_gallery%2Fenergyresources.htm&ei=5H1sUIDaBY_SiALdk4GAAg&usg=AFQjCNHtuIY7xmMCtUhH75uOimFjQ23MaQ Link to information: In the 20Th century automobiles were powered by fossil fuels in a combustion engine. It was the start of the modern power. (Gasoline). Movable gears

Electricity
=gas Example: "Oldsmobile" Chemical energy covert to electric energy
=Electric motor Fuel cells Today Example: "Hybrid Cars" Link to information: http://www.autolife.umd.umich.edu/Environment/E_Overview/E_Overview6.htm Beginning of Global Rise Global environmental impacts such as global warming and began because of global pollution. Automobiles contributed. Changed rural and urban landscapes in America.
The automobile was a big force that developed the modernization of cities.
Farmers- effected by using cars to sell profits.
The highways began.
Influenced new business to come to life.
50% of ground area of a city devoted for streets and parking spaces by the 1960s= destroying animal habitats.
Helped remake or make the city life= suburbs.
No rules in driving caused traffic, behavior, and life's.
= Development of street lite- more safety.
Public transportation Impacts the rural areas first and this meant they had to change the landscape.
cars in rural areas helped travel workers to their work to and back.
Roads where made.
Frightened or even injured livestock.
Rural people not pleased of urban drivers engaging on paved roads and kicking dust. http://www.autolife.umd.umich.edu/Environment/E_Overview/E_Overview1.htm Pollution caused by the 19Th and 20Th century cars= 21St century cars trying to be build more environmentally friendly with new technology.
Traffic running more smother and efficient.
Safety is now the biggest priority on automobiles.
Faster, longer mileage, and stronger.
Gas prices have went up.
Roads everywhere
public transportation more efficient
Automobiles used for everyday life. Link to information: Link to information: Hybrid Cars This car uses less fuel and energy which helps the environment more and is more beneficial (good) to it. It's more so than the modern gasoline cars. Potential to save tons of carbon dioxide emissions. No positive impact on the environment in the 20Th century caused by automobiles. No positive impact on the environment in the 19Th century caused by automobiles. No Impact No Impact Reason: People not really thinking about it and technology not as advanced to solve for it. Hybrid cars-environmental friendly.
Electric motor.
21St century automobiles could use gasoline or electric power.
Automobiles producers of the 21St century are trying to make cars that would be more friendly to the environment and safe as the ones before were not.
Traffic more smooth.
Faster, longer mileage, and stronger.
More routs/roads to get you to where you want to go.
Public transportation more efficient. Started to pollute the air by car letting out many gases into the air.
Needed lots of wood or coal to heat and create the steam.
Changed rural and urban landscapes.
Injured or even killed life stock.
Rural farmers not pleased of Urban people making noise and kicking dust to crops. Helped rural and urban workers get to work from and back.
Roads were invented. Needed lots of coal and electricity to make the gas.
Global warming begins to rise and cars contribute.
Natural fossil fuels were being used like coal.
50% of ground area used for streets and parking lots= destroying animal habitats.
No rules in driving caused traffic, changes in mood, and life's. Gas power is stronger, faster, longer time, and more reliable for travelers than the steam engine.
Helped develop the modernization of cities.
Farmers use automobile to help sell profit.
Highways.
Businesses influenced by automobiles to develop.
Helped develop city life- suburbs.
Street lite invented= more safety.
Public transportation. Fossil fuels in automobiles still being used which is still causing the rise of global temperature.
Prices in gas going up.
Cars used for everyday life which is causing more pollution. + - + - + - 8/5 2/5 8/3 Yes benefits do out way the cost. The reason why the benefits out way the cost is because over time humans have been trying to invent and have been really desperate to try to fix the environmental problems we have and the automobile has been a big cause to it. Answer:

The automobile did change the course of human history. The reason why it changed the course of human history is because it helped humans by not wasting their energy in walking, creating new businesses, new jobs, environmental problems, new advances in technology, transportation of profits easier, and the way we communicate. But the most important change that the automobile caused to humans was more ways to connect. More routs to go not just one but many to go about.
