Slovakia
I start my trip by going to the airport and taking a plane to Kosice, Slovakia. This would take me 25hr and 5min. This is with one stop in Toronto, Canada (1h 32m); one stop in Vienna, Austria (4h 45m); and our arrival in Kosice, Slovakia (1h). The rest of the time will be used for switching planes. The ticket will cost $1021.97 round trip. I would arrive at 7am (Noon their time).
While in Kosice, Slovakia I would visit the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth. This church was built on the site of another cathedral but that one was burned to the ground. The current church was built between 1378 and 1508.
After that I would check out the East Slovak Museum. This Museum was established in 1872. On the "facade" (front of the building) it has a statue of Perseus and Vulcan. In the museum it has the Kosice Gold Treasure, jewelery and numismatic exhibits and much more. The price for admitsnce is 2 Euro per adult.
I would go then to my hotel. this is the Double tree by Hilton. 1 king bed 1 bedroom suite for 199 € ($256.87).
Next I would rent a car and drive to Bratislava. this would take me 4hrs and 56min. With the rout I have chosen I would have to pass through hungry.
While in Bratislava I would visit the Bratislava castle. This beautiful castle was built during the 10th century and was reconstructed during 1956-68. It has a beautiful view of the city skyline and the Dunaj river, which is the longest river in Slovakia 2850 km long. (out of which 172 km in Slovakia).
Then I would check into my next hotel the Crowne Plaza Bratislava. This Hotel costs 71.27€ ($92).
Next I would hop in my car and head up to Veľká Fatra National park. This national park was declared on April 1st 2002. It has many beautiful flora and fauna such as brown bears, gray wolves, and Eurasian lynx. It also has many hills which are great for hiking on.
I would be going in the fall so I would need basically the same clothes I would in for an Ohio fall. This is the best time thanks to the comfortable weather in the day and crisp cool nights.
After my trip to Vel'ka Fatra National Park I would head up to Poprad, Slovakia. While here I would stay in the Hotel Cafe Razy. For 2 days this will cost me 29.44€ ($38)
The Tatra Mts. are 2,655 m high (8,711 feet) and has a total area of 750 km² (289.6 sq miles).
The Slovak Culture is a very polite culture. The people there are expected to say "Good morning," "good day," "good evening," and "good night." They have a very rich folk culture. A big part of this is their folk art. Mostly its wood carving, fabric weaving, and glass painting. The Slovaks have had this on their culture for many many years.
Next I would take a trip down to the Slovak Paradise National Park. This park has many rivers that have formed large gorges, canyons, valleys, caves, and waterfalls. It also has a lot of beautiful hills and wildlife.
The park was 1st protected in 1936 but wasn't established as a notional park until January 18th of 1988. Since then the park has grown to be the 7th largest national park in Slovakia.
Then I would continue back down to Kosice to catch my Plane back home. This, from Poprad, will take me 2hr and 15min.
The End
Since I'd be visiting in the fall I'd be there for their Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day for this they have a memorial march for it and kids get out of school.
