Galations 5:16, 17 (NLT) So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. Theme Scripture Purpose Observation Balance Action Keep our eyes on Jesus Hebrews 12:2 Viligant and watchful for obstacles Know and use the Word of God 2 Timothy 2:15 Filled and empowered by the Spirit The Goal Let God be the one in control
He knows us better than we know ourselves

When our spirit is in control, it co-operates with the Spirit of God Purpose Observation Balance Action Get somewhere Watch out where you are going Stand upright Takes energy to get anywhere Genesis 1:27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 1Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace himself Sanctify you completely and may your whole Spirit, Soul and Body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We do what feels right (emotions)
Make choices apart from God (will) Spirit Soul Body Understands the truth.
Hears God's Voice Listens to the Spirit

Intimacy Power Protection Growth John 10:3-4 The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When He gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with His voice. Ephesians 6:10 God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. (The Message) Ephesians 6:16 - above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope Circumspectly - vigilant... watchful It takes faith to walk in the Spirit
Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. Don't be naive as you walk this walk in the spirit. We have a real enemy who is roaming the earth seeking to destroy not only you personally and your faith but the potency of the church of Jesus Christ. The End or whats next? Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your understaning; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Theme Scripture dfn Commit to pledge to do something;
to make a binding declaration;
to be bound;
to trust [kuh-mit] verb, The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment'
is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast

the chicken is 'involved

the pig is 'committed.

1 Kings 18:21 Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent. Commitment starts with a desicion If you don't make a decision, someone else will make it for you Discussion What is a good decision that you made?
What did you consider before you made it? Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord with all your heard, with all your soul, with all your mind, with all your strength. Commitment involves trusting Question What are things that we trust? What prevents us from trusting God? Luke 14: 25-27 (The Message) One day when large groups of people were walking along with him, Jesus turned and told them, "Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters—yes, even one's own self!—can't be my disciple. What prevent us from committing everything to God? Things Exodus 20:1-4
Others Luke 14:26-27
Ourselves Psalm 139:23-24
Not Satan Matt 4:1-11 Re-establish the purposes of the Kingdom Forces on the earth God's will 1 Chron 28:10-16
Man's will Genesis 1:26-28
Satan's will Genesis 3 Things Matthew 6:25-33 (The Message)
25-26"If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don't fuss about what's on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.

27-29"Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch? All this time and money wasted on fashion—do you think it makes that much difference? Instead of looking at the fashions, walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They never primp or shop, but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them.

30-33"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
Luke 18:18-23 - Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler Relationships Luke 14:26-33 (NLT)
26 “If you want to be my disciple, you must hate everyone else by comparison—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. 27 And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.
1 John 3:4-6 (NLT)
4 Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. 5 And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. 6 Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. Sin is the question Trust God and His Word Be led by the promises

not the feelings Trust God not our understanding Jesus is the Answer Live a consecrated (committed life) Am I living out my plans or the creators plans for me?

Romans 12:1
Galatians 2:20 Our enemy wants to derail us from our perfect alignment with the Father God has given us dominion over the earth

Genesis 1:26-28 We choose to give away our relationship with the Father and our authority (dominion) over the earth through sin

1 John 3:4
Romans 5:12 Sin is like a virus
Commitment (consecration) is the antidote
Walking in the Spirit is the vaccination Antivirus Psalm 139
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Matthew 5:29-30
"Let's not pretend this is easier than it really is. If you want to live a morally pure life, here's what you have to do: You have to blind your right eye the moment you catch it in a lustful leer. You have to choose to live one-eyed or else be dumped on a moral trash pile. And you have to chop off your right hand the moment you notice it raised threateningly. Better a bloody stump than your entire being discarded for good in the dump. 1. STOP 2. Delete 3. Repair / Repent Revelation 3:19
(NIV) Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.

(The Message) 19"The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they'll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God! 4. Forgive Colossians 3:12,13
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 5. Quarantine 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6. Exclude
Galatians 5:1
Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.

James 1:14-18 (The Message)
Don't let anyone under pressure to give in to evil say, "God is trying to trip me up." God is impervious to evil, and puts evil in no one's way. The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no one to blame but the leering, seducing flare-up of our own lust. Lust gets pregnant, and has a baby: sin! Sin grows up to adulthood, and becomes a real killer.
So, my very dear friends, don't get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures. Homework Comming Up This Weekend
