Korincancha
In Inti Raymi, There is a temple called Korincancha. Korincancha, made out of polished stones, was richly decorated with precious metals and delicate weaving honoring the Sun God, Inti.
Did You Know?
There are 4 ceremonies in Cusco/Cuzco. Inti Raymi is the most important of the 4 ceremonies.
Inti Raymi is when the Earth offers all of its fruits.
Dancers arrive following the rythm of lively music, inviting Mother Earth to participate in the celebration led by the Aya Uma, a mythological character wearing a mask with 2 faces and 12 horns. The 2 faces represent night and day and the 12 horns represent the 12 months of the year.
When is it ?
Inti Raymi is celebrated in June 21 or 22 (Ecuador and Peru celebrates in 24-29 June , which is the exact date of the celebration).

Inti Raymi , like other celebrations, of course celebrates with food. There is a favorite beverage called Chicha. Chicha is served in 2 containers called Keros. In 1 glass, people
toasted
the land and Gods, and the other was toasted to the visitors.

Inti Raymi is celebrated in Cuzco, Peru. It is the Festival of the Sun; a religious ceremony to honor the God, Inti, one of the most respected god in the Inca religion.

Fun Facts!!!
-Similar ceremonies were held by peasants, but in the original ceremony, dozens of llamas were killed.
- Another part of the celebration featured the start of a new fire. Obeying the order of the Inca, no fire was allowed in the city that day.
- As a fitting finale/finish, the Inca gives a speech in the native language, Quecha.
