Career Research Project Name of Career: Biochemist! Biochemists study the chemical composition of living organisms. What is a Biochemist's Job? They collect information by observing, analyzing, and experimenting. Biochemists sometimes have to purify, measure, and weigh various samples. Biochemists who are professors have to grade students' papers and plan future projects for their class. Some biochemists are exposed to chemical or environmental hazards while working. So, they must follow safety procedures. Most biochemists work a 5-day, 40-hour workweek, but sometimes they have to work overtime to meet deadlines.
