Challenge you all to think differently this week:

1. Study another industry
2. Brainstorm - aim for quantity not quality
3. Take a class - search for inspiration
4. Read a novel in an unfamiliar genre
5. Draw a picture - support artistic expression
6. Take field trips
7. Set parameters to focus your ideas
8. Bring in a coach
9. Trial and error
10. Ask a child for advice

CHALLENGE
1. Anyone familiar raise hand now...
2. Teams of 4
3. Marshmallow Challenge Kit
4. Build the tallest FREESTANDING STRUCTURE
5. The entire marshmallow must be on top
6. Use as much/little of the kit as desired
7. Feel free to break up the spaghetti, string or tape
8. When time runs out - no touching!
9. Questions?

REMEMBER
THIS WEEK:
1. Kids do better than students - Kindergarteners create taller and more interesting structures...think like a kid!
2. Prototyping Matters - kids spend more time playing and prototyping...allow time to fix your design!
3. Marshmallows are Metaphors - they are like the hidden assumptions of your projects. Identify your marshmallows early - the real customer needs, the cost of the product, the duration of the service - test early and often!
