Core Beliefs and Values
Being a Blessing
The most influential person in my life was Vesper C. Sias. He was confident and outgoing, had a genuine interest in others, was uncritical, a good cook, creative, envisioned & completed projects, cared for my grandma, was an avid reader, was very loving, praised others for their achievements, had many hobbies, was entrepreneurial, and made gifts for people.
To care daily for my body and mind.
To let love for myself and others guide my decisions.
To live free of anger, self-doubt, and shame.
To seek forgiveness when I fall short of my core principles.
To learn from failures.
To understand more and judge less.
To process and release negativity quickly: FORGIVE.
The End in Mind: 20 years out
Sonya and I will have grandchildren and have meaningful relationships with our children and grandchildren. We will be active and physically fit. We will have productive orchards and gardens on our property. I will have retired from public school teaching and/or have started an alternative school. I will be performing music and exhibiting art. I will have a business for supplemental income. I will be at peace with all people and with things I have experienced. I will be contributing to the community in which I live. People will know me as a loving, trustworthy, and fair-minded person who is accepting of others and who is willing to listen to or help those around me who are in need. I will be a leader in education. We will travel. We will teach what we have learned to others.
To love and support Sonya in all that she aspires to be and do.
To nurture my children in their interests and passions while instilling the knowledge, skills, and understandings needed to become resilient adults.
To guide my students to the knowledge, skills, and understandings that will transfer to all areas of life on their way to becoming more resilient, responsible, and productive members of the community.
To give loyal support and companionship to all who would call me their friend.
To use my aptitudes, skills and knowledge to create wealth for sustainable life-choices.
A sense of wonder and curiosity.
