In 2014, cities are home to more than half of the population

They represent 2% of the world's land

They spend 3/4 of the world's resources

In 2050, 2/3 of the world population live in cities

This is twice as many people as in 2014

The city of the future has found innovative ideas to adapt to this change
Thanks to the development of new technologies, cities have ADAPTED to this increasing number of inhabitants

They are more ATTRACTIVE and more LIVEABLE

They are also more ECO-FRIENDLY than ever

Cities of the future are SMART
Our houses are now adapted to play a role in clean energy production and optimized energy consumption

These smart and connected flats are hardly a reason to go anywhere else
Buildings are equipped with sensors to analyze data in order to support security and optimize energy consumption

They are solar-paneled and solar-heated
The outside walls are made of grass and cultures, retaining water for domestic use and preventing flooding
Cities are denser and buildings are taller
The heat is regulated automatically
Most everything works from home and is wired to a central computer
The rubbish is recycled instantly and the waste water is made drinkable
It follows-up and regulates the food, the water and the energy consumption of the house and controls the supplies
It can order food, clothes and entertainments in accordance with our tastes
This connected interface knows each member of the household: their needs, their habits, their tastes
Mobility within the city is sustainable and healthy

The traffic is greatly optimized to gain time and make the trips more pleasant

New vehicles are connected to the outside environment and are able to interact with it
New mobility experience
Pedestrian and cycling streets represent the majority of the city's street network
These eco-friendly means of transportation are driverless
They are also able to interact with the environment taking care of such tasks as buying theater tickets or booking a table in the restaurant the car just drove by
The vehicles provide useful information about the monuments and the buildings which are parts of the city
Personal cars get you home more quickly and provide a connection to the external environment and your home through the domestic computer
The smart multi-modal public transportation system automatically regulates the density of the traffic and functions with 100% clean and renewable energies
Walking, running and playing generate a steady flow of energy that is harnessed to run the street lighting
Traffic jams are a thing of the past
Road accidents have thus been eradicated and walking in the city is not dangerous anymore
Thanks to scientific advances, the daily housework is automated, leaving more time for individuals to interact with one another

The connected life makes easier the day to day tasks and increases the connection experience among residents

Smart cities are more secure

They are ruled by an intelligent government

Smart city's inhabitants play a greater role in the governance of the city
What is the city of the future ?
Through NEW TECHNOLOGIES and advances in INFORMATION and COMMUNICATION technologies,
the city of the future has become an attractive green and ECOLOGICAL area evolving into a site of advanced SOCIAL PROGRESS and a platform for sustained DIALOGUE
The daily life pace is managed through the central domestic computer which reminds us of our daily activities and appointments
Everyone is now able to work at home and kick-off last minute virtual business meetings
Offices have disappeared and the buildings have become accustomed to hosting the surplus of people
This local system is constantly linked with each part of the city, providing us with information about our friends' and family's location, activities and daily events, also providing useful facts and data about cultural institutions, public transportation, shops, and so forth
Outside our homes, life is better than ever
The city's newest residents are directly involved in discussion groups within their neighbourhoods to share ideas on the development of the area
The city is divided into several neighbourhoods which revolve around a giant hub which constantly regroups several shops, museums, restaurants and outdoor spaces, allowing for easier access and greater social cohesion
Attractive, green public spaces encourage the sharing of innovative ideas with other people and reflect our creativity by providing designated spaces for graffiti, stickers and murals
Rules and regulations are easier to understand for everyone
Cities are now so important within the State that they act autonomously as a Federal States with their own laws
Cities are more secure as it is now easy to apprehend thieves and criminals, thanks to an intelligent network of video-cameras
Each citizen is engaged in the maintenance of the infrastructures to the extent to which they use them
Citizens are regularly asked what they want to improve in the city
The outside environment is completely rethought to maximize the social cohesion
