Purpose
The purpose of this entry plan is to establish a set of objectives and activities that will guide me in transitioning to the new role and assisting the principal in cultivating a positive and collaborative relationships with staff, parents and community members and providing the necessary tools for establishing a culture of continuous improvement and setting high expectations for all stakeholders. These activities of this plan will enable me to better assist the principal in improving academic achievement of all students.
2. Staff Culture – assist principal in fostering a positive and welcoming environment for all staff members
Introductory and Welcome Back to School letter to staff
Staff Survey - gather thoughts, concerns, & ideas for climate improvement
Share survey results and collaborate with staff members in creating a strategic plan to improve staff culture
Plan individual, team leaders, and grade level meetings
Conduct regular walk-throughs with principal
Celebrate staff
Create a bulletin board featuring the Star Teacher of the Week and a Feature Teacher section during the live morning announcements
Positive notes to teachers and teachers notes to each other
Promote positive relationships
Utilize SRI (School Reform Initiative) protocols to promote team building

3. Family-Community Partnerships – assist principal in building positive and constructive relationships with parents and community members
Introductory letter for parents and community in the school’s website
Back-to-School letter to send out to parents
Parent Survey - gather thoughts, concerns, and ideas for climate improvement
Meet with PTA and community members
Discuss survey findings and create a strategic plan to improve parent involvement
Plan for a successful Meet the Teacher Night
Home-school communication protocol and expectations
Methods of communication - Skyward access, emails, school website, twitter, teacher and administrator blogs
Parent Invitation to school activities campus decision making process
Introduce Watch Dog program - get dads more involved in school
Attend PTA board meetings and evening events - communicate with parents
Incorporate Multicultural Night - celebrate all cultures.
Letters translated in all the languages spoken by the student body to promote diversity

Greet students and be visible during drop off, classrooms, cafeteria, recess, and dismissal to build and model positive relationships
Incorporate PBSI (Positive Behavior Support Initiative) and CHAMPS (Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, Participation, Success)
Foster a safe and positive learning environment
PD session with teachers to discuss Morning Book
Integrate Morning Book daily to build trust and positive relationships with students
Celebrate student success
Create an All-Star Effort bulletin board featuring students’ accomplishments
Attend after school events
Ensure safety of students at all times

Meeting norms to be utilized during data meetings, PLC (Professional Learning Communities), iTeam meetings, grade level meetings, and after school sessions
Expectations for curriculum walk-throughs - Fundamental 5 lesson frame, power zone, student-centered learning environment, Kagan Cooperative learning strategies, technology integration, AVID strategies, essential questioning techniques
Specific feedback after a walk-through is conducted
Offer suggestions for improvement if needed
Meet with office personnel, instructional aides, and custodial team
Clearly communicate the expectations
Solicit input for improvement

2. Operational/Managing Systems – assist principal in managing leadership and collaborative teams effectively
