Transcript of Positive/ Negative Attitude
Why should we be positive?
What is a negative attitude?
Positive people are motivated to pursue worthy ambitions and keep their eyes focused on what matters most in any moment. Several attributes of a positive personality can increase the value of your personal development in some
Positive thinking doesn't mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst.
The student may:
Make self-defeating comments
Call everything “stupid” or “dumb”
Frequently diminish achievements, accomplishments, and other positive things
Minimize the successes of others
Refuse to participate and take part in activities and discussions
Argue and bicker
Challenge others’ ideas and opinions
Never have anything nice or productive to say
Always find fault in everything
Always think of the worst that will or could happen
Say they don’t care, don’t want to do something, or hate things
Have a look of dissatisfaction
Show frequent anger
Not everyone with a negative attitude is born that way. Since negativity is a learned response, it can be taught to an otherwise content child. A parent with a negative attitude is modeling this way of thinking, and the child learns by example to be pessimistic.
Life experiences can also teach you to expect the worst from people and situations. A history of trauma, abuse, or failure in spite of your best efforts may train you to anticipate negative outcomes.
It should be noted that clinical depression can also affect your perspective, making an otherwise optimistic person more inclined to interpret experiences in a negative way.
A negative attitude is a frame of mind whereby a person is unhappy and fees that everything is unfair and is working against their overall happiness. A negative attitude is brought about by wrong beliefs, which are brought about by people or other influences. They indicate that a person's life in meaningless and pointless and makes a person to feel very unhappy.
