Skills and Techniques
Skills: Skill is defined by knapp as the leaned abililty to bring about predetermined results with maxmum certainty, often with the minimum outlay of time or energy or both. Knapp (2011).

A skill in sport is the ability to produce a combination of movement using a variety of muscles and joints to produce a coordinated action. Skills are required through learning, and mastered through pratice and observation. Adams et al (2010).
Techniques
A technquie is the way an athelte performs a skill. In some sports. players use different techniques to produce the same outcome. For example David beckham and Cristiano ronaldo have different technuqies when taking direct free kicks, and Andy Murray and Rodger Federer will have different serving techniques. Adams et al (2010.

The most effective way to consider a technquie is to consider how the skill can be broken down. For example, a long lofted pass can be broken down into its component actions - Example run up (Pre stage), alignment of ball, feet position.
Task 2: Watch this video identify the skills and their importance
Task 3: Now break down 4 of the main skills into techniques for example: Arm position, run up
Task 5: Now consider the skills within this next team sport video.
