GENDER DISCRIMINATION What is it ? Gender discrimination and sexism refers to beliefs and attitudes in relation to the gender of a person, such beliefs and attitudes are of a social nature and do not, normally, carry any legal consequences. Sex discrimination, on the other hand, may have legal consequences Who Does this Affect? It affects all women Women have to deal with this by mabey mentoring and networking. Mentoring occures when one person acts as an advisor to another, fostering the skills needed for success in a business environment. Women also support one another by astablishing networks both inside and outside the business. Sex Discrimination Is Illegal and Wrong
Employers who engage in or allow sex discrimination must be stopped; and employees who have been victims of sex discrimination should be fairly compensated. Gender discrimination in the work place has always been the prominent form of discrimination in the workplace. After all, women make up 46.5% of the workforce.
