Early in coco's life
In the 1921 coco launched her fragrance N.5 that became very popular and to this day is one of the best selling perfumes worldwide. In 1924 her makeup line launched, then a year later
in 1925 her signature jacket along with the little black dress were launched. It made a huge impact in the fashion industry, that to this day is still on trend.
Gabrielle Chanel was born in August 19, 1883 in Saumur France. Her mother passed away when she was 6 years old and was left with her father and 5 siblings, a couple years later her father abandoned them and they were sent to a orphanage.
Gabrielle left the orphanage at age 18, she worked at a tailor shop she also sang at concert halls and clubs to make extra money. She later on moved to the resort town of Deauville during World War 1 where she became the mistress of a rich ex-military officer and Etienne Balsan in 1908.
In 1955 chanel's iconic flap bags launched, they were $220 at the time. As the years passed and flap bags became more popular the price increased. In april 2015 the price increased again, they now range from $4,700 to $6,000 depending on the leather and size. This bag became so popular that to own one you need to make an appointment and wait a couple months to receive it.
Chanel contined to work on her boutiques and seasonal fashion shows. She was knowned for being a perfectionist, even the smallest details had to be perfect. Chanel loved what she did and was proud of her work. She was loved that people appreciated her work and the fashion world.
Gabrielle Chanel died of a heart attact in January 10, 1971 at the age of 88 in her private apartment The Ritz in Paris, France. In 1983 Karl Lagerfeld started representing Chanel. Today he is still in charge and has represented Chanel the way it should be represented. Chanel is still one of the biggest designer company's in the Fashion industry today.

After Boy Capal passed she decided to keep going with her boutiques were she was selling hats and limited quantity clothes.
Her inspiration for her clothing pieces were men clothes, she wanted woman to feel comfortable with what they were wearing like men did. Her clothing became very popular with celebrities and her name started to expand in the United States.
Chanel's Biggest Achivements
In World War 2 Chanel was a nurse and was very well knowned, but all her post-war popularity was lessened because of her affair with a Nazi officer. So she decided to move back to Paris were she continued adding new clothing pieces to her collection. She continued to have affairs with many men but never fell in love again, she also never had children. It was rumored that she couldnt have children, but all she said was that she didn't want kids.
