Transcript of Selena Quintanilla
She was the youngest child of Abraham Quintanilla Jr.
She joined her brother Abraham (A.B.) who was eight and sister Suzette who was four. Selena started to love to sing when she was three years old. At six, she was singing in both English and Spanish. Even though she did not know how to speak Spanish at the time, She sung GREAT !
When Selena was nine, her father started a musical group. Her father had always had a strong passion for music. Winning them fans all over the Untied States, Latin America and the world. She would always let her fans come up on stage Selena was very loved by her fans for her kindness, her love of the fans, her positive attitude, and of course of her wonderful music she made. Birth Of Selena Her Fans Getting Started At the time of her tragic murder on March 31st 1995, Selena was known as “The Queen of Tejano”.
Tejano music is a fusion of polkas, country-western and traditional Mexican folk music that is sung in Spanish. Selena and her group “Los Dinos” created a different sound by mixing in Colombian cumbia, pop and R&B. In the late 50’s and early 60’s, he was part of a group called “Los Dinos” which in English means “The Guys”.He adopted his old group name, for the new family group name calling the band “Selena y Los Dinos”.

Selena (Middle) In 1986, Selena y Los Dinos released the album Alpha followed by Muñequito Ee Trapo.
In 1986 at the Tejano Music Awards, Selena won the Best Female vocalist award. An award she would win every year through to and including 1996. Selena was named the fastest selling female artist in history back in 1995, when her albums "Dreaming Of You" sold well over 175,000 copies it's first day. Selena broke Mariah Carey's sales record. Selena's "Dreaming Of You" sold in one day, what Mariah's CD sold in one week. Selena's 1993 Grammy - winning album "Live" has sold over 1,500,000 copies. Selena's biggest fear was that no one would come watch her perform.
After every concert Selena always asked her dad, 'How'd I do?'.
Selena's final performance was on March 19, 1995 in Chicago. The Houston Astrodome Concert (February 26, 1995) was her last televised concert. Yolanda had killed Selena because she was jealous and she stole money and Selena was going to call the cops. Yolanda went in her truck and cried her eyes out and pointed a gun to herself. She couldn't believe that she had killed her best friend. Yolanda told the cops that she never ment to kill Selena. On October 23, 1995 Yolanda Saldivar guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Tejano singing star Selena.
There was 61,041 at her last big performance (Houston Astrodome) before she died Her actual last performance was made a few days before her death for a children's charity. Selena was married on April 2, 1992. Selena and Chris first admitted that they loved each other at a Pizza Hut in the Rio Grande Valley. Towards the end of her life, Selena and Chris planned on having children as soon as Selena's career settled down some. It was one of Selena's biggest dreams to be a mother. She hoped to one day have five kids. Chris was also Selena's guitarist More then 20,000 girls auditioned for the role of Selena for the movie. Jennifer Lopez became the highest paid Latina in Hollywood history by playing Selena, earning a then-unheard of, $1,000,000. Jennifer now earns 9 to 10 times that much. The studio were Jennifer Lopez is 'recording' "I Could Fall In Love" in the movie, is Studio A in Q-Productions, where Selena actually recorded her English Album. Selena - The Movie" was such an amazing movie, they made it over 20 different languages!" "If you looked in my eyes. Would you see what's inside?"
-Selena Quintanilla One night Selena and her husband Chris had a meeting with Yolanda Saldivar at the Days Inn in Corpus Christi TX. Yolanda was Selena's manger and best friend. After retrieving files and records containing information about her fan club and boutiques. Selena and Chris had left the hotel. Selena came to the conclusion that Yolanda kept a few of the files. The next day Selena and Yolanda had gotten into an argument. About Yolanda holding on to the records. Selena had told her that they could not be friends if they could not work this out. Selena had tooken off the ring that Yolanda had gotten for their friendship. Yolanda pulled out the .38-Caliber Taurus Revolver and shot Selena. Selena transported to the local hospital where at 1:05 pm she was pronounced dead. Apr. 16, 1971
Mar. 31, 1995 Selena had owned an boutique store. Her boutiques featured a full-service salon as well as Selena memorabilia and fashions, some designed by the singer who was known for creating many of her own stage looks, including her famous purple — her favorite color — sequined jumpsuit.
There was two stores. One was in Corpus Christi and the other in San Antonio. After she had gotten killed. The store in San Antonio was closed down. About Her First Album Being Soled
