What Do All those
Letters Mean
CM
Writing commentary means giving your opinion, interpretation insight analysis, explication or reflection about a topic.

Concrete Detail Specific details that form the backbone or core of your body paragraphs (AKA facts, specifics, examples, descriptions, illustrations, support, proof, evidence, quotations, paraphrasing, plot references). These need to have parenthetical citations. Watch the video for details on how to do that.
The Concluding Sentence is the closing sentence that wraps up the TS and sums up the paragraph. It closes up the thoughts and gives insight to the next paragraph. Emotional or connotative words are preferred here usually beginning with "As a result" or another concluding sentence.
Topic Sentence This sentence should state the main point of the paragraph and be straight to the point.
