Sharpening Pencils
Refocusing Cue
On the back counter is a "Sharp" tin & a "Needs Sharpening" tin. If you find you need to sharpen your pencil, please raise your pencil in the air to be dismissed to take a sharp one & place your used one in the needs sharpening tin.
Leave it on your desk, put it in the bin at the end of the class or during proper clean up time. Do not leave your seat without permission.
Intelligence is not a fixed trait!

Missing work will be in your class binder. You have two days from your absence to make up the work.

It is your responsibility to make up any missed work!

– It is your job to get homework done and if absent get missing assignments, notes, and make up tests

Come inside quietly & without distracting others. Put your tardy slip in the bin by the bathroom pass & take a seat. When appropriate ask elbow partner to fill you in on what you missed.

You are not dismissed by the bell! You are dismissed by your teacher. When directed - pack your belongings, sit quietly & wait to be dismissed. When you leave push your chair in & check for rubbish .
Without talking, match your pieces to find your table group and select your table number based on how quickly your group finishes.
Discuss "Welcome Back" as a group & each member write down one thing you learned, one question you may have, and one reason you are excited for this year. Be prepared to present as a group.

Helping your teammates does not mean giving answers. Help by giving hints, asking good questions, and discussing ideas.

Classwork/Homework will stamped daily.
Team Tests will be one grade for whole group
so communication is very important!
Individual Tests will take place 2-3 days
into the next chapter.
Get out homework. Begin class by starting Number Talks. On Mondays fill in planner, or make edits during the week.
