Transcript of Cell Organelle Analogy Project

Cell Organelle Analogy Project
design by Dóri Sirály for Prezi
Cell Membrane
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the cell membrane is that it forms a boundary between a cell and the outside environment and controls the passage of materials into and out of a cell.
Nucleus
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the nucleus is the storehouse for most genetic information, or DNA, in your cells.
Ribosomes
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the ER is that it works as an interconnnected network of thin folded membranes
Lysosome
Its found in animals.
The function of the lysosome is that the membrane - bound organelles contain enzymes
The cell membrane is like a barbwire fence since it surrounds the prison house.
The nucleus is like the head chief since it controls what happens at the jail house.
its found in animals and plants.
tiny organelles that link amino acids together to form proteins
The ribosome is like a cafeteria since they make
proteins for the people.
The ER works as a police line-up since it packaging the criminals and sending them to where they need to go
The lysosome is like a janitor
since they clean up and break down the
stuff inside the building.
Vacuole
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the vacuole is a storage
of materials needed by a cell; fluid filled
sac
The vacuole is like a file cabinet since
it stores materials
Golgi Body
Its found in animals and plants.
The function of the golgi body is that it
consists of closely layered stacks of
membrane - enclosed spaces that process,
sort, and deliver proteins.
The golgi body is like the mail man
who delivers and transfers the
letters.
Cell Wall
Its found in plants.
the function of the cell wall
is to give protection, support, and shape
to the cell; rigid layer
the cell wall is like a jail building
since it surrounds the places and gives shape to it
Cytoplasm
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the cytoplasm is
to dissolve molecular building blocks -
such as proteins, nucleic acids, minerals,
and ions; jelly like substance.
The cytoplasm is like the police officers since it tries to control every thing around it
Mitochondria
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the mitochondria is to
supply energy to the cell.

The Mitochondria is like the
the work out room and power lines since
it uses energy out of the prisoners and
the power line uses watts of energy.
Chloroplast
Its found in plants.
The function of the chloroplast is to carry out
photosynthesis, a series of complex
chemical reactions that convert solar energy
into energy - rich molecular the cell can use.
The chloroplast is like food since it produces food
for the plant/ prisoners.
Cytoskeleton
Its found in plants and animals.
The function of the cytoskeleton is
that it is a network of proteins that is
constantly changing to meet the needs
of a cell.
The cytoskeleton is like the foundation
since it has to change in order to fit the
shape of the building.
