Message in an old bottle http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Gutenberg_press.jpg The first newspaper I worked for had been printing
with hot lead type only three years before. When I was in graduate school,
I worked one summer running
the big graphics camera in a
print shop, and making offset
printing plates. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3f/Blacha.offsetowa.pozytywowa.jpg I worked in radio for
four years after that,
then corporate advertising.* *I drew pictures and wrote copy
with crow quill pens. I bought and mastered my first
PC in order to maintain control

between maintaining control of what I write
and turning it loose as part of the larger conversation.
