Transcript of Design Thinking - IDEATE

Brainstorm
"Mind Mapping" Method
Main Idea
As stated before, the main problem from which this ideation process starts is the inability of a 25 year old Colombian just graduated from Philology and Languages - French to prove to the market she can successfully teach french language without getting a master degree or any of the other requirements she is being asked to get a job.

All the ideas generated as part of the brainstorming process were classified in 2 large groups: the kind of ideas that require from my friend to get a typical job and the ones that let her be her own boss.
The most practical one....
THE TOP 3
Next there will be found the final 3 ideas selected:
The most disruptive...
Getting a tipical job...
Being her own boss...
My favorite...
By C@milo Gómez
Taking a not well paid job and get the experience she needs
Since she is a pretty decent singer she could perform sung interviews.
she could offer as a guarantee working free for the first month.
Getting a typical job...
She could start or join a philologist association so they could demand better treatment from employers.
She could get a certification to prove she is good not only at speaking french but also at teaching it.
She could start offering free classes and invite her possible bosses.
Getting a typical job...
She could offer complementary classes for free through a online radio station.
She could offer training to her possible bosses in exchange for the opportunity.
She could pay her possible bosses a dinner and convince them that she is the person they need.
She could take advantage of special dates like Valentine's day to teach short poems or songs for people to dedicate.
She could focus in people who don't want to necessarily learn the whole language but only the basics to communicate an idea successfully.
She could design intensive methodologies with which in short time people could learn the language by living with them.
Being her own boss...
She could offer basic classes through Google hangouts as a way to promote herself as a great french teacher.
Since she is a great salsa dancer she could offer a 2 for 1 promo and teach salsa and french at the same time.
She could be a nanny meantime she teaches kids french.
Being her own boss...
She could form a certification academies firm.
She could set up her own academy as a little version of France and teach french through experience
She could start by charging a little fee and rising it as the class gets more difficult.
She could start a business to adapt songs lyrics between Spanish and French languages. Not just translating them but putting the heart into the adaptation process.
Since she is a great salsa dancer she could offer a 2 for 1 promo and teach salsa and french at the same time.

This would require from her to design a whole new methodology that allows people to learn these 2 things but by doing so some remarkable benefits could be obtained... for example linking learning to joyful experiences the learning process could be more meaningful.
She could offer basic classes through Google hangouts as a way to promote herself as a great french teacher.

By using a very good and free tool as the Google houngouts, she can teach basics concepts and let people get to know her as a french teacher, leaving more advanced concepts for presential sessions.
She could focus in people who don't want to necessarily learn the whole language but only the basics to communicate an idea successfully.

It is a fact that there is people who don't want to learn a whole language but to communicate and understand some precise ideas. By identifying them and designing a methodology for them to learn the basic concepts that allow them to communicate the ideas without all the language structure she could develop an interesting business idea.
