Transcript of Animal Farm and Modern Times

Animal Farm And Modern Times Themes Conclusion Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is a book that is very relevant in modern times. The themes presented in this book are very real in the world to this day. A few of these important themes are: Power in Animal Farm Power, one of many themes in Animal farm, is clear evidence of its modern relevance. In the beginning, Mr. Jones held control over the farm. Eventually, however, the animals rebelled and Snowball became the new leader. Snowball was a decent ruler. Despite this fact, Napoleon had his "puppies" chase Snowball away. Perhaps the worst leader of all three, Napoleon was still good at one thing. He kept his power and dominance very well over the others. Even if this meant going as far as killing them if they seemed at all like a threat. Modern Power As well as in Animal Farm, there are still many struggles over power in modern times. For instance, the situation in Syria is a great example. According to the UN, more than 60,000 people have died in the Syrian conflict so far. The Syrian president, Bashar al Assad, is trying to maintain power in his country in his fight against the many rebelling Syrians. This struggle over power is one of many in the world today. The End by: Gary Dwyer Rebellion Equality Power Dictatorship Greed Animal Farm is a book that is still relevant in modern times. Power, a major theme in the book, is evident in society today. Right now, Syria is undergoing a brutal war in which power is a major factor. All in all, the themes in Animal Farm are clear proof of its relevance in the world at this time.
