Transcript of Virtual Reality Presentation

By: Marianne Broyles Virtual Reality Do you know what's coming?? The world of virtual reality... Now can you imagine the possibilities of virtual reality of the future..... ARE YOU READY??? Virtual reality could, with time, take the place of having personal relationships and cause health risks. It has been found that the use of virtual reality can be a habit forming lifestyle. Virtual reality is already in effect within the medical field by way of robotics technology. For example, robotic arms are used to work on patients during surgery while the entire operation is supervised by only a minimal staff of highly trained nurses. After experiencing the virtual reality world, the users will find one on one communication more difficult. The Social Implications of Virtual Reality: The use of virtual reality is most commonly associated with the gaming world. For example, video games such as Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, World of Warcraft etc. use weaponry and visual effects of actual combat for entertainment purposes. Similar virtual mock environments are being used for training purposes in the military, government, and law enforcement today. http://www.switched.com/2009/08/15/virtual-reality-exhibit-gives-you-animal-senses/
