Technology is making our kids unhealthy.
According to the World Health Organization health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Mental Health
Negative impacts of technology on mental health include:
Lack of sleep
Increases in aggression, depression, anxiety, and hyperactivity
Addictive behaviours
Suicidal thoughts
Social well-being
addiction to gadgets
loss of quality time with family
communication skills
30-40% of communication is face-to-face whereas 80% is online.
highly idealized representations of peers on social media
20% of teenagers considered suicide and 50% felt cyberfullying was worse than face to face.
In conclusion...
Technology is good
but nature is better.
