The Mongolian Empire
The Mongolian Empire a Positive or Negative Chapter in History?
I believe the Mongolians were a positive chapter in history. They had an open diversity of cultures, religions and cuisines. This open diversity could be an example of how we could improve as a community today. Although the Mongols were around for a very short period of time they had introduced the advanced Yam system, allowing people to travel to different places.
In the negative side of the Mongolians they have inspired warfare tactics with their methods of using fear (showing their brutal courage against the towns they were invading), also dividing and conquering (by using horses for mobility).
The Mongols really did reinvigorate the cross Eurasian trade. As the Silk Road was dying, the Mongols had decided to reopen the Silk Road for markets and merchants but under their protection, they would take a percentage of each sellers profits. This was called taxing. It was said that 'a man could walk from one end of the Mongol empire to the other with a gold plate on his head without fear of being robbed.'

POSITIVES OF THE MONGOLS
The mongols had adapted different types of cuisines in their culture, rice had became apart of the Persian diet. This was due to them traveling along the Silk road.
Within 80 years the Mongolian Empire had left China and a new dynasty was created, The Ming Dynasty. The Mongolians downfall was due to its large size and it had no unity of culture.
NEGATIVES OF THE MONGOLS
The Mongols were very brutal warriors and most towns they had visited would have already surrendered. This is because the towns people knew that the Mongols would slaughter everyone, this was their reputation. It was estimated they killed about over millions of people. The Mongols would travel with their portable homes called Yurts.
POSITIVES OF THE MONGOLS
The Mongols were almost unprecedentedly tolerant of different religions. They didn't expect people who joined the Mongols to understand the religious beliefs of their land and so they were open to any types of religions. The Mongols had very nomadic life style, meaning that they would follow the seasons.
The Mongols were probably responsible for the Black Death. This is due to the Mongols opening up trade. They allowed people, food and animals to carry diseases/infections across the Silk Road. They are known to have also caused biological warfare by throwing dead bodies over the walls of Catha.
POSITIVES OF THE MONGOLS
The Mongols increased communication through out Eurasia. This was achieved by using people riding fast horses and sending information. This was called the Yam system and they used bronze-like passports to allow them to trave and receive a fresh horse at each weigh station . They had also increased speed and communication with the west, middle east and Asia.
The Mongols relocated people who were useful to them such as artists, musicians and especially administrators. This was because the Mongols didn't do tasks for an example administrators would keep records. They relocated people many times within the empire, sometimes because of their skill sets. By doing this they had created cross culture transfer.
NEGATIVES OF THE MONGOLS
A negative with the Mongols was that Genghis Khan believed to have said that 'The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters'. This definition proves that Genghis Khan wanted everyone to suffer.
NEGATIVES OF THE MONGOLS
The Mongols then assimilated into Persia and then adapted to agriculture. This happened around the 15th century they were indistinguishable. The Mongols had become farmers and herders. The yak plays an important role with their Mongolian agriculture.
