Transcript of FIRST GENERATION ARCHITECTS
In 1947, with the partition of sub-continent mostly muslims Architects came to Pakistan.
They use mostly british and western style of architecture because they trained in western tradition.
Most of architects inspired by modern movement of Bahaus School, Le-Corbursier and Frank LLoyd Wright.
Mostly Pakistani architects trained from JJ school of Arts in Mumbai, India before 1947.
For furthur education mostly went to the foreign countries.
In 1950, small band of architects came together to form the Official board of Architects which named institute of Architects of Pakistan.

Invited to read a paper on “Islamic Architecture” at the seminar held at Muree Hills under the auspices of Field MarshallAyub Khan in 1965.
