We´ve to use more the bicycle
Materials in cycling
Purito training
In cycling we use a lot of materials that we don´t use in our normal life such as bikes made up of carbon fiber. This help us a lot because it´s a very light material. Fiber carbon is a mixture between rigidity and resistant. There are three types of fiber carbon: HMF, HMX & HMX-SL
HMX-SL is 8.5% lighter than a frame of HMX
HMX is 14% lighter than a frame of HMF

Popular vehicles
Vehicles & Transports
La Vuelta 2013
There are a lot of types of vehicles such as, cars, buses, motorbikes, planes, etc. But do you know what a vehicel is?

Vehicles are means of locomotion that allows transfer from one place to another. When you move people or objects it´s called transport vehicle. But when we talk about (transport) vehicles we always think about cars, motorbikes, ships, planes,trains... but we never think that there are more ecological and economical transports like bicycles. They are a vehicle too, but most people don´t used it because other transports are faster and you don´t need to spend energy.
This is why bicycles aren´t as popular as other vehicles. Today we are going to talk with a professional cyclist about what he thinks about it, what elements he uses in races and what are they made of.
Joaquim Rodríguez Purito
Int: What do you think about use the bicycle?
Pur: I think that it´s a good idea to use the bicycle because it doesn´t contaminate, if you live on a city you don´t get stuck in traffic and you can look at the landscape without worrying of the traffic lights, the cars... However, some people can´t afford it, so walking is a good idea and you do sport too.
Int:These are some of the advices for the people that Joaquim Purito gives to us
Pur: And remember that when we biked we´ve to use a helmet. These can save our life.

As you know, bicycles have two wheels attached to a frame.
The structure of a bike is composed of four main parts.
Saddle area
Front set
In a bike there are lots of things that we have to know such as:
Saddle, frame, rear derailleur, front derailleur, pedal, shock absorber, wheels...

Fiber-carbon bikes
Plastic elemnts
Most of the elements that we use in this sport are made up of plastic like speedometers, polythene helmets , bottles of water, special glasses. This elements aren´t very important but they are important too.
The speedometer help us to know our velocity, the polythene helmets protect our head, the bottles of water hydrate us and the special glasses protect us from the UVA rays.
Our equipment and wheels
We use an equipment made up of lycra, an elastic and very resisteant material. There are two types of gloves: the short type and the long type. Depending on the weather we use one type or another.
The wheels depend of the race: if it´s a road race the wheels are very thin and if it´s a mountain the wheels are bigger.
