repetition That is not to say that what is in the best interests of the child are synonymous with what the child wants; that is to say, that how they feel, while twisting helplessly in the winds of adult choices, should matter. Children look at their parents with love, even when they are injured. They hope their parents will change. They believe their parents will change; even when their lip is bleeding, the hope is greater than the fear."
I know, from personal experience, so many children who should never go home. I also know, from that same experiential view, that the foster care system is inundated with children in need, underfunded, understaffed; the number of good foster homes cannot stand up to the amount of children in danger. I know that institutions are rife with people who take pleasure in the control of others in an environment away from public view, where the children are not to be believed, because they are damaged. I know that some caseworkers care but have no time and some caseworkers have no time to care. As with any group, there are good parents and bad parents, good caseworkers and bad caseworkers, good foster homes and bad foster homes. To say that one or the other is definitively good or bad is to wear your rose colored glasses while spouting unsupportable facts" " " Children who are violently abused such as hit, kicked, or burned are put into foster homes.Physical abuse is the most common type known and used in the U.S. Kids who are the most abused are 4 years or younger and they shouldn't need to got through this terrifying thing that may ruin their life permanently. This is why i believe children who are mistreated should be placed with a good foster parent. "According to the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS), in 2005, an estimated 3.3 million reports of alleged abuse and/or neglect involving approximately 6 million children were made to local child protective services (CPS) agencies across the country. An estimated 899,000 of these children were determined to be victims of abuse and/or neglect (USDHHS, 2007)". Many children are placed in foster care to help their families but them as well. When they are mentally abused they create the sense less self-worth than anybody less. The abused child feels unsafe and fears their parents. They will usually be aggressive and unstable and might need a therapist at a very young age. Psychological problems can be caused by poor parenting skills or harsh punishments and should be taken care of by being put in foster care by Child Protective Services. "All children experience a great deal of transitional stress when they are first contacted by the children's authority in the county for the purpose of removing them from the home. It is my experience as a therapist for these children that they usually vividly remember the details of the day they are removed. Whether the caseworker comes to the home or the school or the police are involved, the scene is not good for anyone, but is a necessary step in the protection process and also begins the healing process. These transitional episodes can leave an emotional mark on the child, creating apprehension and anxiety, but this is alleviated to a moderate degree once the child becomes familiar and comfortable with the foster parent resource". Foster care can also help kids get a brighter and better future. There are many programs to give scholarships to foster kids. These children are taken to a foster home where there wont be any violence or aggression. Children will be able to study and play with other kids their age there. Where they can be loved and cared but at firdt it might be difficult but better for them. "For the half million foster children* in the United States, paying for college presents formidable challenges. Fortunately, several programs initiate scholarships, grants and loans that are exclusively available to the subset of students who are adopted or currently in foster care." Foster care is a better option for kids who are abused and tortured daily. Parents who are addicted to drugs or are aggressive might need time to recover without their children to see the pain they go through. Watching all this violence has made children into murderers. This violence and mental problems can come up to this and may ruin their lifes and of others. Im decided that foster care can be a much better place for kids and can lead them to a better future.
