Wu's Poetry Explication Project By WuChun Lynn Davis So then I could tell them
Where the wind goes...
But where the wind comes from
Nobody knows. No one can tell me,
Nobody knows,
Where the wind comes from,
Where the wind goes. It's flying from somewhere
As fast as it can,
I couldn't keep up with it,
Not if I ran. But if I stopped holding
The string of my kite,
It would blow with the wind
For a day and a night. And then when I found it,
Wherever it blew,
I should know that the wind
Had been going there too. I fell in love with the poem the very first time I read it. I started picturing myself as a little kid again, fascinated by the way the world worked. I was still new to it, and my mind was full of questions, a majority of them starting with “Why” or “How come”. The poem is filled with childlike wonder and curiosity and I think that is why I was drawn to it. Wind on the Hill
by A.A Milne The rhyme scheme is ABCB/ DEFE/ GHIH/ JKLK/ MNON.
The last word of every second and fourth line in a stanza rhymes: The arrangement of stress and unstress words forms a pattern (aka the rhythm) . Diction "No one can tell me, (A)

Where the wind goes." (B) stanzaic structure:
five quatrain Caesura: A strong pause within a line of verse.

The Wind and The Kite The Wind is a an invisible moving force.
It can symbolize one's life force, energy, and vigor.
The wind can be a form of guidence. The Lyrical Feel The meter switches from dactylic to trochaic Simple words
Inquisitive nature Lyric Poem (a short poem of songlike quality) it is elusive and has mystic qualities.
I think the wind could also represent the mysteries and wonders of life, that we are driven to gain knowledge of. The Kite is an object that we typically associate with fun, energy, freedom and youthfulness.
a symbol of spiritual or childlike awareness •The limited freedom that someone has because it is always controlled by a stronger being (the person flying the kite). Also a feeling of security/safety because that kite is held by someone else, who's 'got its back'... the freedom it would give a person - to leave problems behind and soar to greater heights. • achieving dreams anchored in reality, exploring new horizons. Literally: The poem is about some inquisitive mind who wonders and tries to imagine where the wind comes from and where it goes. She pictures herself letting go of the kite's string as the wind carries it away. And then she discovers that where ever the kite has landed, the wind had been there too. But at the end of it all, she still cannot figure out where the wind comes from. Allegory: A story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning. Symbolically: The poem represents childlike wonder and curiosity. The wind is the mystery and the kite is the guidence needed in order to find the solution. curiosity-fueled learning is, to small children, nothing short of an adventure. kids are driven to explore the world. ok, I'm done
