Executive Branch of
Georgia Education is the most important responsibility of the state government, and it is one that consumes the largest portion of the state budget. The major organization in the Executive Branch is the Department of Education (ED). There are over twelve key agencies under the Department of Education. Some of the agencies include: Federal Student Aid, Office of Civil Rights, and the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. These agencies make sure education is the number one emphasis of the Georgia state government. Organization of the Executive Branch of Georgia Education Red = Does not meet

Human resources is the second largest expense in the state budget.
The Georgia Department of Human Resources goal is to provide costumer focused human services that promote child and adult protection, child welfare, stronger family and self-sufficiency.
The DHS includes Division of Aging Services, the division of Child Support Services, and the division of Children and Family Services.
The division of Aging Services helps Georgians and adults with disabilities live longer, live healthier, and live better.
The division of Child Support Services helps children by enforcing parental responsibilities including child support.
The division of Children and Family Services investigates child abuse, finds foster care for abused and neglected children, and helps parents with money and their children. Organization of the Executive Branch of Georgia Public Safety, and Transportation

The Georgia Department of Public Safety oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD).
Georgia State Patrol handles traffic accidents and enforces traffic and criminal law investigations and enforcement.
Capital Police enforce laws dealing with capital hill.
The MCCD conduct safety inspections of motor vehicles and handle and inspect highway Hazmat shipments. Things like nuclear waste and major chemical shipments.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) works to maintain highway safety and relief highway congestion.
There mission is to move people safety throughout the State of Georgia in a timely and efficient manor.
The GDOT determines how money is spent on state highway projects throughout Georgia. Organization of the Executive Branch of Georgia Economic Development and Natural Resources

The Department of Economic Development (DOED) assists small businesses, companies relocating to Georgia from other states, and international businesses.
They have been very successful. When it comes to attracting fortune 500 companies Atlanta ranks 15th globally, 3rd in the U.S, and 4th in North America.
They can help provide businesses with loans, with tax relief and human resources.
The Department of Natural Resources has statewide responsibilities for the management and conservation of Georgia’s natural and cultural resources. Most of this work is conducted by DNR’s six operating divisions which include: Coastal Resources Division, Environmental Protection Division, Historic Preservation Division, Sustainability Division, Parks, Recreation & Historic Sites Division and Wildlife Resources Division. He/She is the commander-in-chief of the military.

The governor can call the General Assembly into a special session.

He/She must meet at the same time as the governor. Role Of the Governor To qualify to be a governor in the executive branch, you must be at least 30 years old.
You must also must have been a legal resident of the USA for 15 years and must have been a legal resident of Georgia for 6 years. Qualifications Governors are elected to 4-year terms
He/She may run for a second 4- year term if wanting to Terms Elections for governor seats are called general elections
They are not elected by a executive party, they are elected by registered voters of the United S Elections The duties that the governor has is that they have to administer the state services.
They also have to enforce laws passed by the legislature.
