Dome of the Rock-Jerusalem
Islamic shrine built between 687CE and 691CE
Rock in the centre of the dome is the
site where Muhammad ascended into heaven
with Gabriel. He consulted with Moses and was given the Islamic prayers
It is the third holiest site in Islam after:
Medina, Saudi Arabia-The tomb of the Prophet
Muhammad
Mecca, Saudi Arabia-site of the
pilgrimage or hajj
Temple Mount
-Site of the original Jewish Temple
in Jerusalem (holiest site in Judaism)
-it is to be the site of the third and final
temple to be re-built with the coming of the
Messiah
Western Wall (Wailing Wall)
Church of the Holy Sepulchre
-Where Christ was crucified and buried

Bethlehem
-birthplace of Christ
