Scoring system for Trampolining
Scoring begins with the degree of difficulty.

Each maneuver planned for the routine adds points to the degree of difficulty score, including 0.5 point for a single somersault, up to 2.2 points for a quadruple somersault.

Competitors do not receive any degree of difficulty points for side somersaults unless they involve a twist. Judges do not count any repeated elements in the scoring.

After determining the degree of difficulty, the judges determine the execution of the routine. - Deductions from the starting value of the routine come from having poor form, lacking stability, touching the trampoline with anything except your feet, stepping off the trampoline, missing elements or exceeding the routine's time limit.


The final score comes from adding the degree of difficulty score to the execution score. In a synchronized event, judges add the synchronization score as well.

Trampolining must never take place without the supervision of an adequately qualified coach.
The coach in charge should ensure that the equipment is safe to use prior to any trampoline session.

The coach should never allow:
Anyone to take part unless they have been warned of the inherent potential danger of trampolining.
Anyone to take part after illness/injury or absence due to illness without first checking the evidence that the pupil is fit to meet the demands for performance.
Any jumping on the trampoline without suitable non-slip footwear.

Any jumping without the presence of an adequate number of attentive spotters of suitable size and weight who have been instructed in and understand their duties
Any horseplay or fooling around

Any eating or drinking in the immediate vicinity of the trampoline.
Any wearing of jewellery, watches, chains, rings, bands, unsecured long hair, untrimmed long nails or anything which could catch on the bed, distract or harm the trampolinist or a spotter.
Any participation without suitable sports clothing.
Anyone other than the coach (for coaching purposes) to stand or sit on the end decks or frame pads or anyone, especially small children, to go underneath the trampoline whilst it is in use.
Any jumping other than in the centre of the bed.

Any new skills without checking the readiness of the pupil, i.e. ability and confidence, without using recommended progressive practices and supports

The compulsory routine contains a prescribed set of skills, which must be performed in a set order, while the optional routines must contain 10 recognised skills.
These skills are submitted on cards to the judges, but can be performed in any order. Each of the 10 skills in an optional routine should be different, ie, skills should not be repeated in the same routine.
Routines should end with the trampolinists in an upright position with both feet on the trampoline bed.
They must remain upright for at least three seconds at the end of the routine, with points deducted for instability.
For all skills apart from straddle jumps, the legs should be kept together with the toes pointed.
Only one attempt at each routine is allowed, unless the routine is interrupted by outside interference.

There is no time limit on routines.
