Transcript of LP 13 Peer Review 2/28/18

Do Now: Select ONE of the following prompts and write for the next 5 minutes. Do not pick your pen up off the paper. Do not stop writing. If you can’t think of anything to write, write down, “I can’t think of anything to write,” over and over until it sparks your imagination….
Prompt 1:
Do you keep a diary or a journal? Explain.
Prompt 2:
How often do you curse? Do you think you should be allowed to curse all the time? Why/why not?
Prompt 3:
Are tests an adequate way to assess how much you know? Why or why not?
Aim: How does working on Microsoft Teams increase our ability to effectively peer review and edit our work?
Peer Review Process:
Take a moment to write line numbers on your essay.
Turn and exchange your work with your partner.
Work in pairs using Writing Assessment and Evaluation Rubric Sheet as their criteria for evaluation.
Answer questions the sheet.
If there are places that need serious editing, use the post-its to show your partner where to do them.
Don't be mean!
Students who did not complete the essay yet:
Please move to the other side of the room and work on your essay until it is complete. Make sure you take a self-evaluation home with you AND take a peer evaluation with you. Try and get a friend or a brother/sister to review your essay for you. Bring these documents in tomorrow.
