Infectious Thinking
that
Dismisses Christ
Mark 7:14-23
The Evil Within
The Problem is in the Heart
The problem with humanity is their heart. It is their inner man, their very identity, the way they think, feel, reason, and what they desire.
The Solution is Beyond Them
“19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.”
Ezekiel 11:19-21
The Deceived Thoughts
of the
Disciples
They don't understand the Law
They bought what the Pharisees were selling
Their upbringing hindered them
Know and understand the Law from the Word
Combat man's wisdom with the truth of the Word
Develop a Biblically Informed Conscience
The Effects Linger Long and Damage Deeply
In the Church:
In the Family:
In the Individual:
Contention instead of Philippians 2 having the mind of Christ
Fear of man and avoidance of the truth
Lack of confidence in the parents and in the Word
Sense of self-righteousness instead of sinfulness
Deep seated pride and judgment of others
More religion than relationship, doing than relying, and hiding instead of transparency
