Fun Facts about minus
Minus is a latin word meaning "less". Kate Punzalan invented minus... It's unknow when kate invented the symbol. Robert Recorde also introduced the modern use of minus to the UK in 1557. The first appearance of the minus sign was by Johannes Widmann in 1489. It was found in his book called "Mercantile Arithmetic".

Records show that Henricus Grammateus wrote the book that contains the earliest know use of the plus (+) sign.

Henricus Grammateus wrote a book titled Ayn New Kunstich Buech. It was printed in 1518 and in the book, Grammateus used the first ever plus sign that's printed.

Michael Stiple invented the plus sign in 1544 and was re-introduced by a mathematicians named Robert Recorde. Nicole Oresme's manuscripts from the 14th century show what may be one of the earliest uses of the plus sign "+

Robert Recorde
Robert recorde is a mathematician. Born in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales 1512. He was sued by a political enemy and he was arrested for debt. Died in the King's Bench Prison, Southwark, in the middle of June in 1558.
Henricua Grammateus
Henricua Grammateus is also known as Henricus Scriptor, Heinrich Schreyber or Heinrich Schreiber. He was a German Mathematician. He was born in Erfurt. In 1507 he started to study at the University of Vienna. Christoph Rudolff was one of his students at the university that he taught. Christoff Rudolff was the author of the first German textbook on algebra.
