Romans 8:13
The Spirit Kills what the Law Cannot Contain
A Critical Reality
No Growth in Holiness means No Birth in Righteousness
Working Out Not Working In
Matthew 6:12

“and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Again, this sounds conditional.

John 15:6

“If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.” This also sounds conditional, we better keep on abiding.
Ephesians 2:5

“even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”

Romans 5:1

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:10

“Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.”
Hebrews 10:23-26

“23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. 26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.”
2 Thessalonians 2:13

“But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.”

The Spirit Incites New Desires
Philippians 2:13

Philippians 2
The Spirit Empowers Endurance
Galatians 5-6
Hebrews 12
Galatians 6:7-9

7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
