- Create a presentation about the major plot points of the novel you are working with.
- Have students create a Prezi about the steps of the writing/revision process.
- ask students to use a Prezi presentation to illustrate the similarities and differences between books, authors, poets, settings, genres, etc.
- Let students create a character trait map to describe a specific character's motives and traits.

- Ask questions. During a lecture, presentation or movie, if students are unclear about something, they can ask questions and get answers without interrupting.

- Give examples. Looking for students to show how something relates to their life? Or how they would apply a new concept? Participation is immediate and much faster than raising hands to answer.

- Take a poll. Ask for a vote among a couple choices and the results will be visually obvious in a matter of seconds.

CRISS Strategy: Read and Say Something

Directions: Each group member will read the text and then say something: make a prediction, ask a question, clarify something you now understand, make a comment, or make a connection.
Today's Meet Activity



1. go to OneNote (tab at the top of your screen) and select the Notebook SECTION "Content Library" and PAGE "Pacing Guides".
2. Select the pacing guide that applies to your table card and locate the information requested.
3. Go back to Prezi presentation slide "Today's Meet Activity".
4. Log into "Today's Meet" using the link on the left that applies to this workshop.
5. Enter your name in the box that says "Nickname" and select "Join".
6. The each member of the team types one of the answers to the table card questions. Then select "Say".
7. Be sure to include the grade level in front of the response
ex: Grade 9: (type answer here)
