English Proficiency Requirement
at UW Bothell 1. Take a test! TOEFL: internet 92
TOEFL: paper 580
IELTS: 7.0 2. Earn an Associate's Degree! A) Will you complete a
Direct Transfer Agreement/Associate of Arts
Degree in Washington State? 4. Complete Accelerated Intensive English Program
(A-IEP)! To be eligible for the A-IEP, you must have: 3. Complete the Campus Intensive English Program (C-IEP)! Still have questions?

University admissions consideration. B) Will you earn a minimum
2.75 cumulative GPA? C) Will you earn a minimum grade of 3.0 (B)
in the equivalent of
English Composition (UW Engl 131)? D) Will you earn a minimum grade of 3.0 (B)
in the equivalent of
Writing from Research (UW Engl 182)? If you answered "yes" to all 4 questions,
you can use your Associate Degree
to meet the English Proficiency Requirement! This is a highly intensive, selective 2-quarter English program at UW Bothell. TOEFL iBT of 65 (no sub-score below 16) OR IELTS of 5.5 (no sub-score below 5.0) OR Successfully completed C-IEP Level 3 at UW Seattle If you meet all the admissions requirements for UW Bothell except for English Proficiency, you can complete the C-IEP at UW Seattle and be conditionally admitted to UW Bothell. You can meet the English proficiency requirement if you complete level 5, earn a minimum grade of 80% in each course, and submit a recommendation from the Senior Director of the UW Seattle English Language Programs! If you answered "no" to any questions, contact an admissions advisor at UW Bothell by writing to email@example.com. If you earn a minimum grade of 80% in each course and a recommendation from the Senior Director of the UW Seattle English Language Programs, you meet the English Proficiency Requirement! 5. Complete 4 years of high school in the USA In your US high school, you also need:
grades of 3.0 (B) or higher
a minimum SAT critical reading score of 500 or an ACT English score of 20.
