design by Dóri Sirály for Prezi
Average height, weight, and color.
Plott hounds’ colors are typically dark such as black and brown but there are also variations like a combination of black and brown, tan, chocolate, gray, orange, blue, buckskin and liver. They can weigh up to 60lbs. A Plott hound's height can range from 22-27 inches.
History and Tranability.
The Plott hounds were brought from Germany by two young Plott brothers’ way back in 1750. One of the brothers died during the voyage while the other successfully reached America, they settled in North Carolina and breed the Hanoverian dogs. As the years passed, the dog’s name was replaced from "Hanoverian" to " Plott hound" . Plott hounds are usually easy to train and don't tend to bark so much.
Plott hounds today.
Plott hounds are still used for hunting but now are a lovable pet for families.
