What is PARCC?
When will I take PARCC?
What is on the ELA test ?
The English language arts/literacy (ELA/literacy) test will focus on writing effectively when analyzing text.
Why is everyone talking about PARCC?
This is the
first time
the tests will be administered. Last year, some students took a field test, which provided school districts an opportunity to see how the computer-based test would work.
PARCC (ELA) English Language ARTS Literacy Tips
"The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a group of states working together to develop a set of assessments that measure whether students are on track to be successful in college and their careers. "
"PARCC is made up of:
Arkansas, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, and Rhode Island
."
The test will be administered during March and May in grades 3 - 11. There are Math and ELA portions.
LA/literacy will also focus on reading comprehension.
The test may also ask you to evaluate multimedia sources (video, etc.)

You can't study for PARCC, but you can get accustomed to the format and Features.
