Fairness
What is FAIRNESS?
- Fairness is giving everyone an equal opportunity to do and say what they wish to
- Not favoring anyone above another
Ways to show FAIRNESS
- Treat others equally
- Give everyone an equal chance to speak
- Be respectful and listen to what others have to say
- Don't leave others out or make them feel unwanted
-Stand up for someone you see being treated unfairly
FAIRNESS poem by 7 ST JEAN
Fairness is life
And life is a game to play even when winning isn't the result
A game where we don't have rules because with fairness we don’t need them
Where justice shall be served to all
And we shall share with all, even if we don't have anything to share
Let's try to understand the misunderstood
Let's try to right our wrongs
Let's not hurt others
Do well to you and do well to others
Help others when they need it and even when they don't
Have a voice
Where we have an equal say and wish
Some may still choose not to be fair
There will never be a balance
But there is just enough on each side
Always remember, that you hold the key
You shall be loved if you take it and open wonders
And unknown if you don't
We don't only include the popular ones but also the ones alone
We don't compare anyone to each other
We don't judge the wrong acts of the past, but the good ones in the present
We let others have a chance in the spotlight
It'll be our gate that will connect human kind
It'll be the seed that may seem like nothing to one, but the connection to the world to another
We may choose the right or wrong path, but in the end, we will get judged for our choices
But we will forgive and we will redeem
The choice is yours on how you use it
Be fair to me, I’ll be fair to you, and maybe, just maybe, the world will follow
“I know, up on top you are seeing great sights. But down at the bottom we, too, should have some rights.” ~Dr. Seuss
Powerless -Nelly Furtado
Paint my face in your magazines
Make it look whiter than it seems
Paint me over with your dreams
Shove away my ethnicity

Burn every notion that I may have a flame inside to fight
And say just what is on my mind
Without offending your might

'Cause this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless what are you gonna do
So say what you want, say what you want

I saw her face outside today
Weather worn, looking all the rage
They took her passion and her gaze and made a poster
Now it's moccasins we sport
We take the culture and contort
Perhaps only to distort what we are hiding

'Cause this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless what are you gonna do
But say what you want, say what you want, say, say
'Cause this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless what are you gonna do
So say what you want, say what you want
In this song, she talks about how media changes how she looks for their benefit. They make her skin look lighter and they take her culture and change it to fit their own needs. She doesn't think this is fair.
Powerless by Nelly Furtado
Hey you, the are the one outside, are you ever gonna get in, get in
Hey you, the one that don't fit in, how ya, how ya gonna get in
Hey you, the one outside, are you ever gonna get in with your
Broken teeth, broken jaw, broken mojo
Yeah, this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless, what are you gonna do

'Cause this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless, what are you gonna do
'Cause this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless, what are you gonna do
Say what you want, life is too short
Say what you want,
Say what you want, gonna do
Say what you want,
Say what you want, feel powerless
Say what you want to
Say say say, do what you wanna do

Life is too short,
just for you
Feel powerless,
gonna do
