It entered the union on May 29, 1790 and it's capital city is Providence. Rhode Island's neighboring states are Connecticut and Massachusetts. There are lots of minerals in this state too. Many common minerals are underground stone, stone, sand and gravel. You can fish in Rhode Island too. Rhode Island has many animals. Some of them are skunks, rabbits, woodchucks, foxes, wild cats and beavers. Forests are also in Rhode Island. A few of them are the Lincoln Woods State Forest and the George Washington Memorial State Forest. Rhode Island State Flower-Violet Rhode Island State Tree-

Bird-Rhode Island Red William Thomas ''Bill'' Osmanski was born on December 29, 1915 and died on December 25, 1996. Bill was a american football player and coach. He was inducted into the College Football Hall Of Fame in 1973. After retirement, Bill became the head coach at his old high school, Holy Cross. He coached the Crusaders for two seasons. During his playing years with the Bears, Osmanski attend dental school. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island and died in Chicago, Illinois.
