The Arabic word for Friday is "Al Jumu'ah" which means the gathering.
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said :
The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On it Adam was created, and on it he entered Jannah, and exited Jannah, and the Day of Judgement will not start except on Friday.
SO WHAT IS IT?
A congregational prayer in Islam that is performed every Friday which replaces the Dhuhr prayer. It consists of a sermon (khutba) given by the imam after which he will lead the people in 2 rakaht. It is a weekly communal prayer, which means that Muslims pray together in a group as one united community.
