A Sneak Peak at
Family Energy Nights
What is a Family Energy Night?
Family Energy Night (FEN) is a free, informal
energy education program for middle
school students and their families.
What happens at a FEN?
Families might use puzzles to explore different ways electricity is generated...
Working together, families investigate a number of hands-on activities set up around the room.
... learn a simple calculation to
find out how much it costs to run
our favorite appliances...
Families can test the efficiency of
different types of light bulbs...
...seal the leaks
in a "drafty house,"...
and make a battery out of pennies!
Join other school and community groups in hosting a Family Energy Night!

to use at home...
Families set goals! What can you
commit to doing that you're not already
doing to conserve energy?
