Transcript of Leukemia Presentation
a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow. Leukemia starts when:
The blood cells in the bone marrow grow out of control. (bone marrow: The spongy center of the bone where blood cells are born) The four most common types of Leukemia:
AML (acute myeloid leukemia )
ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia)
CML (Chronic myeloid leukemia)
CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia) Leukemia is grouped on how fast it gets worse and what type of blood cells it affects.
•Lymphocytic or myelogenous?? Acute or chronic? How do you get Leukemia? Experts don't really know yet! Syptoms are... Night sweats and Fever, Headaches, Bruising or bleeding easily, Bone or joint pain, A swollen or painful belly, Getting a lot of infections, Feeling Tired, or weak, Losing weight, and not feeling hungry. Don't be freaked out if you have one of these symptoms. If you really feel insecure about it, talk to your doctor, who will probably be able to fill you in on what you want to know, about your own health. Common treatments for leukemia are... Chemotherapy... Radiation Treatments... Stem call transplat... Biological Therapy A Word of Wisdom: [The syptoms might depend on what type of Leukemia you have.] If you have acute Leukemia... If you have chronic lymphocytic Leukemia... If you have chronic myelogenous leukemia... Chronic Leukemia can rarely be cured, but the treatments help control the disease... My sources:

~Disease goes through your family
~Exposed to chemicals at work
~Had some types of chemotherapy to treat another cancer The wierd thing is,
the risk factors are very if-y. Researchers aren't sure wheter these factors are true or not. Most people who do or have these things don't get leukemia, and people who have leukemia don't usually have the risk factors. (but there are some risk factors your going to see in a while... The bad news:
There is no 100% way to prevent leukemia.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! Luekemia is a pretty complicated disease. There are many types, and many diffrent combinations with each type. There is no certian way to prevent it, and Experts don't really know how it starts. There are symptoms, but what symptom you have depends on what type of leukemia you have. Treatments are good, but there is no certian fact that the disease won't come back.
Risk Factors are precise, but experts don't even know whether they are right or not...
Leukemia is a pretty complicated disease. I managed to wrap it up like a present. The thing is..this is only a portion. There is tons more you can learn!
and, A Basic Summarization: The thing that I wanted to really get in your heads:
Leukemia isn't just the disease where you go bald. Its much more. I hope I proved that to you!
