By Jacob Van Skyhawk and Parker Seegmiller Matthias Jakob shcleiden Matthias Jakob Schleiden was born in Hamburg, Germany on April 5th, 1804 He was co-founder of the cell theory along with Theodor Schuann and Rudolph Virchow. Cell theory is the idea that cells are the basic unit of structure in every living thing He was first to formulate a belief of biology equal in importance to the atomic theory of chemistry He recognized the importance of the cell nucleus He was educated at Heideburg, and practiced law at Hamburg, but had an interest in botany He died on the eve of June 23 in 1881 in Frankfurton Germany Quiz!!!!
