When do I apply?
Competition dates are announced in August. You can begin with ordering transcripts and contacting potential referees.
Can I apply to all of them?
NSERC and CIHR - must be Canadian or Permanent Resident to apply; then only one competition

NSERC and MSFHR - Yes, Canadians or Permanent Resident can apply to both

Affiliated Fellowships - No citizenship restrictions, open to international and domestic grads at UBC
Can I apply?

To be competitive you should have First-class standing in each of the last two completed years of study, (min 80% at UBC)

NSERC - MSc Award

CGSM: $17,500/year

- up to 12 months funding
- must be registered full-time in the first or second year of MSc to take up funds

NSERC - PhD Level

PGSD: $21,000/year for up to 3 years
CGSD: $35,000/year for up to 3 years

Must have completed as of December 31st of the year of application, between 0 and 24 months of studies in a doctoral program
